Can anyone tell me where I can purchase Al green music videos from back in the day?  I own all of the concert DVDs but I would love to see the music videos and performances from the 70s.  Unfortunately, I wasnt born until 1975 so I did not see an Al Green video until Soul Survivor.  I want to see his early performances.  Every now and again I catch an old performance on VH-1 classic but I want to see them all. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I purchased the majority of my DVD's from EBay.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone picked up on this and offered some of the classics to the loyal fans?

Let's face it, technology was a wee bit different in the 70's.

I completely agree! The are digitally remastering everything so it cant be that difficult to compile all of Al Green's performance from the 70s.  I know that it can be done, but whose going to do it? If someone did compile all of the old performances, they would have all of my money!!! LOL!

Digitally remastered DVDs offering a collection of Al's classic 1970's television appearances and concerts are long overdue!

Other than eBay and sharing & trading videos/DVDs, fans are very limited in how we can add to our video collections. There are only a few commercial DVDs available for purchase, and they offer only a mere glimpse of Al in the 70's.  Al Green Greatest Hits - Deluxe Edition includes a bonus DVD with 3 performances from 1972 and 1978.

It's been awhile since I've watched The Gospel According to Al Green, but I don't remember any footage of Al performing in the 70's on this DVD.

I recently ordered and received Burt Sugarman's The Midnight Special - Million Sellers DVD which includes Al performing "Let's Stay Together" from his 1974 appearance on the TV show.  The DVD is not available in stores.  It's offered by Guthy-Renker, the famous infomercial folks.  You can order it online: http://www.midnightspecial.com/  However, you receive a free bonus "The Midnight Special  - Classic Comedy" DVD when you order by phone: 1-800-480-0300.  This is the introductory offer to an expensive subscription DVD series.  After you buy the "Million Sellers" DVD and the bonus "Classic Comedy" DVD for $9.95 plus $3.95 S/H, they start sending you a set of 2 DVDs at $19.95 per DVD (plus S/H) every other month.  And you won't see Al perform again until the 5th shipment!  The phone rep said he sings "Tired of Being Alone" from 1974.  Before I cancel my membership, I will find out if I can order this DVD by itself.

In the UK last year, they attempted to release a digitally remastered DVD of Al's breathtaking 1972 full-hour performance on the PBS network series, Soul!  The "Al Green - Live in '72" DVD has still not been released.

For example, they recently released a DVD of Marvin Gaye's classic archival television performances -- "Marvin Gaye - The Real Thing: In Performance 1964-1981": http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EPFDAI/qid=1149941673/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-6688050-3332606?s=dvd&v=glance&n=130

It's about time they released a digitally remastered DVD of some of the great 1970's TV performances of a living legend - The Reverend Al Green!

I agree with Kay we need the 70's live performances of Al on DVD! Reverend Al Green is a living legend and
the last of the great soul singers, when they made him they broke the mold! there will never be another singer
like Al!!!!!!!

Wonderful, wonderful show in Houston!  It reminded me of my very first concert which was an Al Green concert.  It  brought back some very fond memories.  I am so thankful that you decided to add Houston to your tour and look forward to seeing you again.  Wishing you much sucess on the rest of your t
