Fields not tended to by large mechanical objects have been forgotten and have filled in with scrub. People have moved on. There are those who steadfastly work this land, but whole communities from "better days" are now gone. 
In the 1940's there used to be a good-sized community of farms a few miles south of Forrest City. It was called Dansby. The families who lived here, mostly poor black sharecroppers, raised cotton and grew all the other crops needed to sustain them on a small parcel of land. One of the families that sharecropped in Dansby was the Green family, led by Mamma and Daddy Green.
